The award-winning Village Green Senior Living, one of Federal Way’s most prestigious retirement and assisted living communities, is seeking a full time cook to support our culinary services department. This position performs as a prep, pastry, and short order cook under the supervision of the managing chef. The preferred candidate will have some restaurant experience or a desire to expand their skills under the leadership of our trained chef. Responsibilities:
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, flat top ranges, and refrigeration equipment
- Prepares item for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and/or marinating.
Special Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of safe food handling practices
- Understanding of various cooking techniques
- Must be able to work productively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and sanitation rules
- Highly organized
- Ability to manage time wisely
