CNC Press Brake Technician

3 Day Work Week (Weekend Shift)

Picture your weekend shift kicking off with a clear set of engineered drawings and a queue of sheet metal parts to form. You review dimensions, confirm tolerances, and load or program your CNC Press Brake. For some jobs, you move to the CNC Turret Punch or laser cutting cell to prep blanks. First-article checks with a caliper, square, and protractor give you green lights to run. Between batches, you perform quick changeovers for different product lines and materials, keep your cell spotless, and log work orders in Powell’s Oracle MES.

Throughout the shift, you follow the Powell Quality System, complete required preventative maintenance on assigned equipment, and participate in ongoing Safety Training. You work independently, but you’re never alone—quality, safety, and on-time delivery guide the team.

What you’ll do

• Form and fabricate sheet metal parts that meet precise dimensional specs from mechanical engineered drawings.
• Operate primarily a CNC Press Brake; also support CNC Turret Punch/Laser Cutting work as needed.
• Perform efficient setups and changeovers across multiple product lines and materials.
• Verify work using precision tools (caliper, square, protractor) and hold engineered tolerances.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks and sustain a clean, organized work area.
• Process shop floor orders using Powell Oracle MES and Microsoft Office applications.

What you bring

• Organized, self-starting approach; comfortable working with limited supervision while meeting quality targets.
• High school diploma or equivalent desired.
• Skilled with a tape measure and ruler; can convert fractions to decimals and back.
• Fluent in reading mechanical engineered drawings and understanding specified tolerances.
• Proven ability to change machinery for multiple setups across varied materials.
• At least 2 years operating and programming CNC Press Brakes and related equipment.
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs frequently.
• PC skills to navigate Powell Oracle MES and use Microsoft Office.
