What are the responsibilities and job description for the Armed Security Officer position at Powell Asset Protection Agency?
Powell Asset Protection Agency is seeking candidates for a full-time armed security officer position in North Augusta, SC. The job involves providing onsite security at a single industrial site. Only applicants with prior military, law enforcement, and/or armed security will be considered for this position. Additionally, only applicants with clean criminal records will be considered. All others need not apply. Starting pay is $17.51/hr following successful completion of SLED armed security certification training and receipt of certification card from SLED. The company will schedule and pay for the training.
Duties include watching over, protecting and defending people and property against unauthorized access, intrusion, damage, injury, or loss, as well as reporting all observations and response activities. Additional duties include the following:
- Conduct regular foot and vehicular patrols on contracted property
- Coordinate with onsite management personnel and local law enforcement authorities as required
- Observe and react to emergencies
- Observe and react to other violations of law or policy
- Legal apprehension and/or arrest of individuals on contracted property and in accordance with post orders
- All duties are to be conducted in accordance with state and/or federal law
Requirements:
- Selected candidate must be at least 21 yrs of age at time of hire.
- Selected candidate must be available for and pass a company-scheduled South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) armed security certification training to be conducted on April 18, 2026.
- Selected candidate must pass a criminal background check.
- Selected candidate must have a valid driver's license and his/her own vehicle.
- Selected candidate must own a well-maintained semi-automatic sidearm (9mm or higher) with a minimum of two magazines prior to being hired. No revolvers or sub-compacts.
- Selected candidate will be required to purchase his/her own handcuffs, flashlight, web belt, and boots. All other equipment and uniform items will be provided by the company.
