We are looking for an experienced multi-talented Dental Assistant to join our team in our Powder Springs office in Cobb County; Bilingual (Spanish/English) prefrred but NOT required. This person will assist the Doctor with polishing children's teeth, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience. You'll also provide hygiene instructions to both kids and parents, helping to promote healthy smiles. The ideal candidate will deliver a professional and qualified first impression to all visitors. This person has excellent communication and customer service skills. He/she has a basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures/systems and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Kids Dental Assistant Responsibilities
As a vital part of our growing dental office, the Dental Assistant will play an essential role in providing exceptional care to young patients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Clinical Support
- Assisting the dentist during exams and procedures, including sealants, cleanings, and fillings.
- Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment following OSHA guidelines.
- Taking dental X-rays.
- Educating children and parents on proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Ensuring patient comfort and a positive experience during visits.
Patient Care
- Welcoming patients and their families with a warm, friendly attitude.
- Explaining procedures in a child-friendly manner to reduce anxiety.
- Monitoring and comforting patients during treatment.
Office Support
- Keeping treatment rooms clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
- Supporting the team in creating a fun, child-friendly environment.
- Participating in community outreach events to promote dental health awareness.
Additional Duties
- Assisting with front-desk tasks during busy times.
- Helping develop efficient workflows for the growing office.
- Participating in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
This role requires a passion for working with children, strong communication skills, and the flexibility to adapt as the office grows. Prior experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, but a willingness to learn and grow is most important.
