  • Identify workplace hazards, evaluate operational risks, and implement preventive measures to protect employees, equipment, and facilities.

  • Environmental Compliance & Waste Management

    • Develop, maintain, and update EHS policies, procedures, manuals, and required programs, including Hazard Communication, Emergency Action Plans, Respiratory Protection, and other applicable safety programs.
    • Oversee hazardous waste management, including proper storage, handling, labeling, documentation, manifesting, and disposal of spent chemicals, process sludges, used filter media, and other regulated waste streams.

    Incident Investigation, Auditing & Training
    • Lead investigations into workplace injuries, safety incidents, near misses, and environmental events; conduct root-cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Develop and deliver EHS orientation, job-specific safety training, and annual refresher programs for production employees, maintenance personnel, and management.
    • Conduct routine facility inspections, safety audits, and operational walkthroughs to identify hazards, verify compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits conducted by OSHA, EPA, DOT, and aerospace customers.
    • Maintain OSHA injury and illness logs, workers' compensation documentation, required workplace postings, and applicable regulatory notifications.
    • Partner with operations and maintenance leaders to reinforce safe work practices, address compliance gaps, and strengthen employee engagement in safety initiatives.
    Required Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, Chemistry, or a closely related technical discipline.
    • Five to seven or more years of progressive EHS experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably foundry operations, primary metals processing, chemical manufacturing, or powder metallurgy.
    • Experience managing hazardous materials and waste in accordance with applicable OSHA Hazard Communication, DOT, EPA, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) requirements.
    • Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs while balancing regulatory compliance with practical manufacturing operations.
    • Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, safety audits, and employee training.
    Preferred Qualifications & Technical Competencies

    • Strong working knowledge of federal OSHA regulations, Ohio environmental requirements, EPA regulations, RCRA, and applicable DOT hazardous materials transportation requirements.
