Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform unskilled and skilled work in the inspection, diagnosis, minor repair, and routine maintenance of school buses and a variety of large and small diesel, gas, and alternative fueled District vehicles and equipment; perform required inspections and preventive maintenance of buses and other District vehicles.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school (or equivalent) and one year of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Incumbents must have an acceptable driving record and must qualify for insurability by the District's insurance carrier. The following licenses or other requirements must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment: Valid California Class B or Class A commercial driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements. US Department of Transportation Medical Examiner's Certificate. NOTE: This classification has been identified as a safety-sensitive job class based on the guidelines of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Employees in this job class are subject to random selection for alcohol or controlled substance testing.
**This recruitment will establish an eligibility list for 6 months that will fill current and future vacancies** **The current opening is 40hrs/week, 12 months** *This is a safety sensitive position and employees will be subject to Department of Transportation Drug Testing Guidelines**
