Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited nursing school program and two years experience providing health services to children. Valid and current California nursing license (Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse). Valid and current certificate of proficiency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR Level C) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Current California driver's license.

KNOWLEDGE OF: Catheterization methods and procedures. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Health and safety regulations including universal precautions. Operation of specialized medical equipment. Record-keeping techniques. Nursing care required for preschool aged children. ABILITY TO: Assist students who are in need of specialized health care procedures. Travel to various school sites within the District to perform a wide variety of nursing duties. Catheterize students and perform other related health procedures according to established regulations. Record data and information. Handle emergencies in a calm and effective manner. Utilize medical equipment and supplies appropriately. Establish files, records, reports and referrals. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the field. Work independently with little direction. Prioritize and schedule work.
