BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist in the overall activities of middle school-aged students in an After School Education & Safety (ASES) program; assist in planning, designing, and leading activities; supervise students in classroom, gym and outdoor activities. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Assist in the preparation of daily program activities including materials and supplies; lead activities with a group of students; provide a safe, caring, positive and interesting learning environment that supports a high level of student engagement; take attendance and monitor students' whereabouts. E Prepare motivating activities focused on building self-confidence, positive social interactions, and team building. E Serve as a role model and foster positive social-emotional growth of students; follow school rules, follow established procedures for behavior management using a continuum of intervention strategies; reinforce positive behaviors as appropriate. E Assure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and procedures; assist in maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
