-PLEASE NOTE: THIS RECRUITMENT IS FOR SUBSTITUTE/LIMITED TERM CUSTODIAL POSITIONS. -THIS POSITION DOES NOT INCLUDE BENEFITS, AS IT IS A SUBSTITUTE/LIMITED TERM POSITION* -Substitute/Limited Term employees are utilized on an as-needed basis to provide coverage for contracted custodian outages. -Applications will be evaluated for minimum qualifications based on training and experience. -Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and pass the Poway Unified School District’s Custodian examination will be invited to interview for placement on an eligibility list for limited-term (substitute) assignments. -Placement on the limited term (substitute) list does not qualify candidates for consideration for contracted positions.

Applications will be screened and those whose backgrounds best match the requirements of the position will be invited to participate in a competitive examination process which may include any combination of the following: Training & Experience Evaluation and a job related-Performance exam. Examination procedures are subject to change as deemed necessary by the Director- Personnel Commission. **This recruitment will be used to the substitute Custodian list.** Exact shifts may vary from site to site; a typical shift is from 2pm-11pm.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. KNOWLEDGE OF: Modern cleaning methods including basic methods of cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, walls and fixtures. Appropriate safety precautions and procedures. Operation of assigned custodial equipment. ABILITY TO: Learn the schedules, procedures and use of equipment and supplies used in custodial work. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Maintain buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Move and arrange furniture and equipment. Work cooperatively with others. Operate assigned custodial equipment. Observe health and safety regulations. Learn basic record-keeping techniques.
