Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection.
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment by following aseptic techniques during surgeries and laboratory work.
- Provide compassionate pet care and animal handling, ensuring animals are comfortable and safe during examinations and treatments.
- Support front desk operations by scheduling some appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners effectively.
- Perform kennel duties such as feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animals’ health status to promote optimal animal husbandry practices.
- Handle laboratory tasks including sample processing, basic testing, and recording results accurately.
- Assist with specialized procedures like animal catheterization when required, while learning knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology.
- Assist with cleaning/maintenance of medical equipment (autoclave, dental machine, etc), laundry, stocking rooms with medical supplies, general cleaning of hospital.
Experience
- Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or similar animal care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, pet care protocols, and animal physiology enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Hands-on veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques, medication administration procedures, and laboratory processes will set you up for success.
- Experience with front desk responsibilities such as scheduling or client communication is advantageous.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
