What are the responsibilities and job description for the Musical Choreographer - Middle School position at Pottsgrove School District?
JOB SUMMARY: Teach choreographic portions for students for the middle
school musical productions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Choreograph movements for musical presentations giving consideration to the genre of music, student ability, and student experience.
2. Teach choreographic movements during scheduled show choir rehearsal time.
3. Follow up during extended rehearsals to enhance and perfect the production and review the program with any absent students.
4. Provide instruction to the students in a way that they are able to copy the choreographic movements.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma necessary
Experience in the field of dance required
Experience in dance instruction necessary
Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
Nonresidents and Pennsylvania residents who have not resided in the Commonwealth for at least two years prior to the date of application for employment are required to obtain an FBI Criminal History Record
Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
