Job Description
Title: Program Staff
Reports To: K-8 Program Coordinator
Pay Status: Hourly
Exemption Status: Part-time Non-exempt
General Summary and Objective: The Program Staff member will be responsible for facilitating various after-school programming at Potter’s Wheel, grades Kindergarten-8th grade. Programs vary from academic tutoring to spiritual development. This position requires a driven and compassionate leader with a desire to glorify God through loving children in high poverty situations.

Program Leadership
- Facilitate after-school programming at Potter’s Wheel 5 days a week under the supervision of the K-8 Program Coordinator.
- Engage students in a variety of academic enrichment activities, provide social-emotional support, and give spiritual mentorship.
- Keep accurate records of students enrolled in the program and follow all policies regarding registration and transportation
Communication & Planning
- Meet regularly with the K-8 Program Coordinator to discuss program details and student progress.
- Assist with the planning and preparation of after-school programming
- Represent the mission, vision, and core values of Potter’s Wheel in everything you do
- Report concerns to your supervisor
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Cooperate with other departments as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Participate in training
Qualifications and Skills
Required
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- A committed follower of Christ
- At least one year of experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children
- Champion of vision, values, and culture of Potter’s Wheel
- Able to be flexible to meet various needs
- A driven and compassionate leader able to work with families in a high-poverty area
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Exceptional model of personal integrity
- Ability to convey a positive professional image and maintain confidentiality
Preferred
- At least 2 years of college or similar training credentials
- CPR certified
- At least one year experience working with children in a ministry environment
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to operate a vehicle.
Position type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is part-time, on average 20 hours a week. Program staff are expected to report to Potter’s Wheel from 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
