Job Summary
Potters Industries is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production Technician – Packaging to join our Augusta, GA team. This role is responsible for supporting the packaging, handling, and shipment of finished glass bead products. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate packaging, maintain quality standards, and operate packaging equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor packaging equipment, including bagging, sealing, labeling, and palletizing systems
- Accurately package finished products according to specifications and customer requirements
- Perform weight checks, inspections, and ensure proper labeling of all products
- Load, stack, and wrap finished goods for shipment
- Conduct routine equipment checks and minor troubleshooting of packaging machinery
- Maintain production and packaging logs, inventory records, and system entries
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper material handling and PPE use
- Keep work area clean and organized in accordance with 5S standards
- Support material movement using forklifts or pallet jacks (if certified)
- Collaborate with production, quality, and shipping teams to meet daily output goals
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience in manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse environment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with high attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow SOPs
Preferred:
- Experience with automated packaging equipment or bagging systems
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment
- Experience in industrial, chemical, or bulk material environments

Work Environment

Schedule
- 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night rotation)
- Includes weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
