What you’ll do
- Install ceramic, porcelain, glass, and stone tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces with precision and artistry.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine layout and materials needed for each project.
- Prepare surfaces by applying adhesives, leveling compounds, or other materials as necessary for optimal tile adhesion.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut tiles to fit around fixtures, corners, and edges.
- Collaborate with construction management teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within specifications.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to verify quality standards are met before finalizing installations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience in tile laying or a related field with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding construction plans.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with construction management, estimating, inspection, plumbing, electrical work, or masonry is highly valued.
- Familiarity with various construction techniques including concrete forming, plastering, carpentry, roofing, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, fixture installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, flooring installation, restoration projects, glass installation, remodeling tasks, welding skills, heavy equipment operation, concrete finishing techniques.
