As a Regulatory Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in guiding regulatory and certification compliance for fire alarm and life safety products from early development through production. Our team is looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing partners to ensure products meet UL standards (UL 864, UL 2572, UL 268, and others), applicable NFPA codes, and certification body requirements. What You’ll Do
- Manage regulatory and certification compliance for fire alarm control units and related life safety products, with primary responsibility for UL 864
- Serve as the primary point of contact with UL and other NRTLs, including support for listings, evaluations, follow-up services, and audits
- Coordinate product certification activities, including submissions, documentation, witness testing, and factory inspections
- Review and assess engineering, firmware, component, and manufacturing changes for regulatory impact in coordination with engineering and quality teams
- Maintain compliance documentation, including certification records, compliance matrices, and change impact assessments
- Track and manage corrective actions related to audit findings, nonconformance's, or certification issues
- Monitor changes to UL standards, NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 72, NFPA 70), and related regulations; communicate requirements and impacts to stakeholders
- Provide guidance and training on regulatory and certification requirements to internal teams
- Support internal audits and management reviews related to regulatory compliance
- Assist with responses to AHJ inquiries and customer compliance questions
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team goals and project milestones
What You Bring
Experience That Drives Success
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Fire Protection, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience
- 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, certification, quality, or engineering support roles within the fire alarm or life safety industry
- Working knowledge of UL 864 and the UL product certification and follow-up services process
- Familiarity with NFPA codes, particularly NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code)
- Experience supporting audits, inspections, or certification reviews
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Experience working directly with UL, FM, or other certification bodies
- Background supporting regulated electrical or electronic product manufacturing
- Experience with change management processes (ECO/ECN) in a regulated environment is preferred
- NICET or other relevant fire/life safety certifications

Location
This is a full-time position, on-site at our Maple Grove, MN location. The expected schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, but an occasional shift in hours may be necessary to accommodate project schedules.
