What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Bartender position at Pottawattamie County?
Crescent Hill at Hitchcock is seeking a high-energy Bartender with excellent customer service skills and strong commitment to ID checks and responsible alcohol service. Must be reliable, attentive, and comfortable enforcing policies. This is a seasonal position that runs from November through March, or the duration of the ski season.
The person in this role will perform daily beverage service operations, provide excellent guest service, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming bar environment. This position requires regular face to face interaction with the general public.
Provide quality guest service while preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes, presentation standards, and applicable alcohol service requirements.Operate POS system to accurately process guest orders, payments, sales, and tips in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Prepare, stock, and maintain the bar with beverages, mixers, garnishes, glassware, equipment, and supplies; assist with inventory and ordering as needed.
Complete all opening and closing responsibilities, including securing alcohol and properly storing products.
Maintain required service sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards.
General knowledge of beverage preparation, drink recipes, and responsible alcohol service is preferred but not required.
Ability to communicate effectively and understand information, both orally and in writing.
Ability to remain calm, friendly, and professional when handling multiple tasks simultaneously, under pressure.
Utilize logic, critical thinking, and sound judgment to analyze, problem solve, and make rapid decisions from information that may be confusing, hostile, disjointed and/or incomplete.
Assist in other departments when needed and perform other duties, as assigned.Must be at least 18 years old at the time of hire.
Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the U.S. (citizen or legal resident)
Must have reliable transportation to and from the ski area.
Ability to pass a drug screening and background investigation that meets all local, state, and federal requirements.
Previous bartending experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and patience.
Willing and able to work rotating shifts – including nights, weekends, and holidays.
