Summary


Potomac is seeking a driven and experienced Senior Internal Wholesaler to join our on-site distribution team in Bethesda, Maryland. This role partners directly with an assigned External Wholesaler to drive advisor engagement, increase assets under management (AUM), and expand Potomac’s presence within the independent advisor, RIA and wirehouse channels.


The Senior Internal Wholesaler serves as both a territory producer and team leader, responsible for executing a disciplined sales plan while mentoring and training junior internal sales associates. This position is ideal for a highly motivated professional who thrives in a structured, fast-paced, and advisor-focused environment.


Periodic travel within the territory and attendance at advisor conferences are required.


What You’ll Do


  • Collaborate daily with the assigned External Wholesaler to execute a territory business plan aligned with Potomac’s growth objectives.
  • Make a minimum of 60 outbound sales calls per day to drive advisor engagement, pipeline development, and new asset growth.
  • Conduct proactive outreach and virtual meetings to educate advisors on Potomac’s strategies, funds, and investment philosophy.
  • Deliver high-quality, consultative presentations to advisors and key stakeholders to position Potomac’s value proposition.
  • Maintain meticulous activity, pipeline, and contact records while becoming highly proficient in HubSpot CRM for tracking, analytics, and reporting.
  • Support the onboarding and development of junior internal wholesalers by sharing best practices and providing day-to-day guidance.
  • Attend industry events and periodically travel within the assigned territory alongside the External Wholesaler.
  • Leverage HubSpot data and analytics to prioritize outreach and monitor sales performance metrics.
  • Represent Potomac with professionalism, accountability, and a deep commitment to advisor success.

Required Qualifications


  • At least 1 year of internal wholesaling experience within the mutual fund or asset management industry.
  • Active FINRA Series 7 and 63, 65 (or 66) required.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales and activity goals (60 outbound calls per day minimum).
  • Strong understanding of advisor distribution channels (RIA, IBD, wirehouse, etc.).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with success in virtual and phone-based selling.
  • Advanced proficiency in HubSpot CRM for sales tracking and reporting.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for conferences and advisor meetings.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Completion of formal sales training.
  • Leadership or mentorship experience within a sales team.


Objectives


  • Develop a deep understanding of Potomac’s investment products and think critically about how they fit into an advisors' business.
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments, to ensure that Potomac stays head of the curve.
  • Comply with legal and compliance regulations at all times.
