As our Events Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind everything from high-impact trade shows and industry conferences to adrenaline-filled sporting events, team retreats, and our legendary annual company celebration.
We’re looking for a seasoned event strategist who thrives on turning ideas into unforgettable moments. You’ll lead every phase of production—from concept to curtain call—ensuring every detail hits the mark and every guest walks away wowed.
Additionally, we utilize the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to keep our teams focused and accountable, enabling us to identify and address both challenges and opportunities effectively.

What You’ll Do
- Full-spectrum event planning: venue scouting, vendor wrangling, budget finesse, logistics mastery, and on-site execution.
- Amplify brand presence through coordinating trade show and sponsorship coordination to maximize Potomac’s visibility and impact.
- Cross-functional collaboration by partnering with marketing, operations, and leadership to align every event with Potomac’s mission and momentum.
- Deliver exceptional client experience by ensuring every interaction is an opportunity to impress and build lasting relationships.
- Stay ahead of curve with event planning, design and production best practices.
- Coordinate with internal staff, clients, and vendors to establish the requirements for an event, and serve as liaison to senior executives throughout the planning process
- Locate resources, visit sites, and lead pre-event meetings to help staff make decisions about event design
- Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and marketing materials
- Oversee client experiences from conception through post-event review; manage on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown; and ensure consistent, high-level service throughout all phases
- Build and maintain a comprehensive database of industry contacts, vendors, and venues
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise on event days

Qualifications
Required
- 2 years working with an RIA or RIA related company
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in event management or related field
- Experience in marketing or public relations
- Experience in building and maintaining positive business relationships
- Proficient with event management software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to make sound decisions quickly under pressure.
Preferred
- Experience with hybrid/virtual event platforms
- Advanced skills in data-driven event analytics
- Sponsorship selling
Objectives
- Manage all aspects of event planning, meet strict deadlines, and stay within budget
- Nurture and build relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts while crafting and implementing the creative and logistical aspects of all events
- Remain current (or ahead of the curve) with trends in event planning, design, and production, and proactively identify and solve operational challenges
- Establish procedures and train staff to execute them
- Comply with legal and compliance regulations at all times
