What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Manager position at Potomac Pool Service?
Potomac Pool Service is currently hiring for our 2026 season, with work starting February 16. We are looking for full time staff that are available year round for our maintenance position. The hourly range for this position is $26.06-$42.81. Average technicians make between $55,000-$65,000 a year, with growth opportunities towards promotions.
This role involves visiting private residential backyards to provide quality maintenance to in-ground swimming pools. This is an outdoor position that will involve exposure to heat, high UV index, and other natural elements. Technicians will visit between 6-9 properties per day to fully clean the pool, test and balance chemicals to ensure safe swimming, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment at the filtration system. We are ideally searching for candidates that will be trained to close pools and grow into a mechanic position.
Potomac Pool Service technicians are friendly, thorough, and detail oriented. They will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships between the company and client for the duration of the swimming season (March-November) and will have the opportunity to work through the winter.
Applicant Requirements:
Reliable source of personal transportation to and from work
Valid Drivers License
Fluent in English
Strong punctuality and attendance habits
Prompt communication skills
Friendly and cooperative demeanor
Mechanical inclination, pool industry experience, and sales skills are preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities Include:
Removing debris from swimming pools
Maintaining company relations with clients through one-on-one communication
Building and sending accurate estimates for recommended repair and service
Identifying problems and needed upgrades at the filter system and pool area
Handling and maintaining chemicals including chlorine and acid
Inventorying fleet trucks on a day-to-day basis
Operating filtration systems with pressurized water
Conducting minor on site repairs
Invoicing clients accurately for parts and work done on site
