Medical Receptionist - 10 Month

About the Position:
Potomac Healthcare Solutions is proud to offer a rewarding opportunity to work in the Student Health Services at Virginia Union University. At the Student Health Services, students are seen by advanced practice clinicians that assess and treat many common acute health conditions affecting the college health population. In congruence with VUU’s mission to develop students as citizen leaders, the Health Center is committed to providing health care services, education and leadership uniquely designed to meet the developmental and educational needs of University students, and to enhance the quality of life for all members of the Virginia Union University Community, including faculty.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients visiting the facility, answering any questions they may have and helping them fill out the required forms.
- Answering phone calls, creating appointments, directing the calls as required and handling all queries.
- Informing the Doctor, Nurse or other healthcare facilitators about impending appointments.
- Maintaining a filing system for all patient documents and reports submitted.
- Answering emails and other electronic messages as required.
- Creating invoices and bills, processing insurance forms and managing vendors and contractors.
- Managing inventory and placing orders as required.
- Transcribing all notes and documents related to treatments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Office Associate or related position.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Proficient in MS Office and computer systems (i.e. Electronic Medical Records).
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Must be a US Citizen.
