Surface Finishing Technician (Lapping)

Make precision happen at Trilap Precision Finishing — Lowell, MA Hours: Monday thru Thursday 7 - 3:30 and Friday 6 to 2:30. Are you the right fit? Can you read prints and verify dimensions between cycles?Do you stay organized, keep parts and lots clearly identified, and maintain a spotless work area?Are you comfortable standing for extended periods and switching between machines?Do you spot non-conformances and FOD quickly—and document and report them accurately? Role snapshot Operate lapping equipment to manufacture parts to customer specifications.Measure parts in-between cycles; inspect to print callouts/specifications.Clean parts and assist with final packaging and shipping.Maintain part identification and lot segregation at all times.Detect, segregate, and report non-conforming material and foreign object debris (FOD).Control non-conforming material and complete required documentation.Keep equipment and work area clean; report any safety issues encountered.Accurately report damaged/nonconforming parts to team leaders/Manager. What you’ll use Inspection tools: dial indicators, gage blocks, micrometers.Print reading with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). What you bring Geometric dimensioning and tolerance understanding; basic GD&T familiarity is a plus.Multitasking ability (measure while parts run; operate more than one machine).Dexterity, attention to detail, cleanliness, and strong safety focus.Good communication skills. Training & education Familiarity with Trilap forms and procedures.High School Diploma or GED (vocational or non-vocational). Reporting, environment, and demands Reports to: General Manager.Physical: must be able to lift and move machined parts.Environment: clean and relatively quiet; hearing protection required in some areas.Eye protection required for certain operations due to eye hazard potential. Overtime Occasional overtime, workload dependent.
