Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Must be able to oversee work of other cooks. Must be willing to learn Federal and State requirements relative to food service, and ensure required reports are filed accurately and in a timely manner.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by district administration.
Supervises: Supervises other Child and Nutrition Department staff and oversees the operations of Child Nutrition.
Duties and Responsibilities: Performs administrative level food services duties. This position has regular contact with members of own staff and with students. Effective interpersonal interaction and public communication skills are essential to work with staff and students.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Oversees the development of uniform personnel policies for school child nutrition employees, basic job descriptions salary schedules and benefits. Administrator's personnel policies.
2. Interviews and recommends placement of school child nutrition personnel. Establishes work performance standards and plans work schedules. Evaluates school child nutrition personnel.
3. Handles all grievances and recommends solutions for discipline in accordance with district policy and procedure.
4. Cooperates with principals and others to plan lunch schedules to fit the requirements and facilities of each school.
5. Assists in developing or administering accounting procedures and records for control and management of money, labor, food, supplies and other costs.
6. Cooperates in planning of child nutrition facilities including layouts and the selection of large and small equipment furnishings, making use of established criteria.
7. Maintains high standards of sanitation and safety in all phases of the school child nutrition program.
8. Interprets local and state health laws and regulations.
9. Visits various school sites.
10. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the superintendent.
