In this fast-paced, high-energy environment where reliable and modern information systems are essential, the Information Technology Applications Manager is responsible for leadership, growth, and support of the organization’s application portfolio. This role manages the Application Team while actively developing team members, leading technological change, and ensuring applications evolve to meet current and future business needs. The Application Manager contributes to organizational success by demonstrating strong leadership, accountability, and commitment to the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the Application Team, with a strong focus on professional growth and career development.
  • Develop team members through regular feedback, performance management, and skill-building.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Identify skills gaps and create development plans, including training, cross-training, and exposure to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Oversee and direct the day-to-day operations of the Applications Team.
  • Ensure applications are stable, secure, compliant, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand current and future application needs, including enhancements, and integrations.
  • Provide leadership for the design, development, and support of enterprise applications, primarily using Microsoft technologies.
  • Ensure solutions are feasible, cost-effective, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Lead technological change initiatives, including upgrades, system modernizations, and lifecycle management of existing applications.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement innovative technologies and applications that improve efficiency, scalability, security, and user experience.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains current and competitive.
  • Drive application modernization efforts such as cloud adoption, platform upgrades, architectural improvements, and reduction of technical debt.
  • Ensure proper documentation, change management, and adherence to project management standards.
  • Conduct studies of emerging IT technologies to maximize application of enterprise architecture, application development, and process engineering concepts and methods.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce application standards, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and operational requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing and supporting enterprise-level business applications in both corporate and regulated environments.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in leadership or supervisory role, with demonstrated success developing, mentoring, and growing technical team members.
  • Strong experience leading application upgrades, system modernizations, and implementation of innovative technologies or platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into application strategies, roadmaps, and technical solutions.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft-based application environments including SQL Server, .NET technologies, reporting platforms, and integration tools.
  • Experience managing vendors, consultants, and third-party software partners throughout the application lifecycle.
  • Experience in application modernization initiatives such as cloud migration, SaaS adoption, platform standardization, or reduction of technical debt.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, automation, and modern application delivery methodologies.
  • Industry experience supporting complex, mission-critical systems in gaming, hospitality, or similarly regulated environments –

  • Relevant technical or leadership certifications such as Microsoft, ITIL, Agile, or comparable -

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
  • Excellence communication skills with the ability to effectively engage technical teams, business leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance short-term operational needs with long-term application and technology strategy.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively under pressure, and lead change in a demanding environment.

Working Conditions

The noise level is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases and is not smoke free.
