Business Manager / Assistant Business Manager
We are seeking either a full-time or part-time Assistant Business Manager. The ideal candidate will have previous retail experience and a passion for building systems that are impactful to our community. You will get to drive the business and its operations while setting aggressive sales targets. There is a heavy commitment due to the startup nature, but it will be very fulfilling and rewarding if you're looking to grow alongside a business and call something your own.
As the Assistant Manager of POSTUP MAIL, you will get to handle the whole gamut of product and service offerings and engage in business development and marketing initiatives. The required skillsets include but are not limited to:
- Business Development: Find areas for improvement and grow the business systems and refine offerings. Explore peripheral add-ons that will enhance our customer and member experience.
- Management: You will be a member of management and own your job. Set aggressive targets and execute to meet them. Manage staff in day to day operations. Knowing the difference between Leader vs Manager will be handy.
- Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and respond to telephone inquiries. Maintain a friendly, engaging atmosphere comparable to a Starbucks or a salon.
- Training and Hiring: Demonstrate leadership when hiring quality staff, training, and maintaining a positive workplace.
- Technical Skills: Operate all equipment, software, and devices expertly. Must be comfortable with computers. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe. Experience with PostalMate or working at UPS, USPS, or FedEx is a huge plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in all transactions. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Small mistakes can lead to large problems, so attention to detail is crucial.
- Multitasking: Manage a fast-paced environment and maintain a steady workflow throughout the day. Handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Active Marketing and Sales: Be able to devise creative strategies and campaigns to build visibility, traffic, and conversion rates. Execute marketing plans and evaluate effectiveness. This includes both physical advertising and social media marketing.
- Full Partner: You are seen as a full partner and all your ideas for growth will be taken into serious consideration. Add value in your way and demonstrate true reliability.

You will wear many hats and be highly engaged in multiple business functions. Candidates familiar with the front and back end of retail will have a huge advantage here because we strongly believe in co-design and leveraging each other’s experiences.
