Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations in our Aluminum Extrusion facility. This individual will be responsible for supervising maintenance technicians, ensuring the smooth functioning of equipment, and maintaining production efficiency by preventing unplanned downtime. The Maintenance Supervisor will implement best practices in safety, troubleshooting, and equipment management to ensure the continued operational excellence of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Supervision:
    • Lead, supervise, and schedule a team of maintenance technicians in daily maintenance tasks.
    • Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to maintenance staff to ensure safety standards and technical competence.
    • Delegate and prioritize work assignments to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks.
  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all extrusion and ancillary equipment.
    • Monitor and optimize machine performance to minimize downtime.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment to identify potential issues before they cause breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs:
    • Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems related to aluminum extrusion equipment (e.g., extrusion presses, cooling tables, pullers, stretchers).
    • Ensure rapid and effective repairs to minimize production delays.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to resolve technical issues.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Promote and enforce a safe working environment by ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and provide safety training to the maintenance team.
    • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all safety-related incidents and corrective actions.
  • Inventory & Budget Management:
    • Manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for ongoing maintenance activities.
    • Monitor and control maintenance expenses to remain within budget.
    • Work with suppliers and vendors to negotiate and procure necessary equipment and materials.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and 5S, to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and equipment upgrades to improve productivity and reduce maintenance costs.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aluminum extrusion industry.
    • At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills, particularly related to aluminum extrusion equipment.
    • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
    • Understanding of lean manufacturing and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Certifications:
    • Certifications in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic systems are a plus (e.g., HVAC, PLC programming, etc.).

  • The role requires flexibility for emergency repairs and occasional extended hours, including nights and weekends.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and perform physically demanding tasks.
