Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to deliver freight efficiently across various routes. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and commercial trucks on local routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and clients to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with clean driving record and proven experience in commercial truck driving.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT safety standards.
- Proficiency in route planning using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery scheduling.
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform truck loading/unloading tasks safely.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, manual handling expertise, and cargo security.
- Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures for freight including dangerous goods and hazardous materials.
