WANTED: Experienced FCAW Structural Steel Welders
We are currently seeking several skilled FCAW Welder to join our team in a fast-paced structural steel fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of welding to AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Code and be capable of producing high-quality welds consistently.
Job Requirements:
- Proficient in FCAW welding using 1/16" flux-cored wire with 100% CO₂ shielding gas
- Experience welding structural steel in accordance with AWS D1.1
- Must be able to pass a weld test:
- 1" A36 grade test coupon
- No backing
- Back weld required after arc gouging the root
- 3G (vertical) position
- Welds must pass UT
- Knowledge and ability to follow preheat requirements per AWS D1.1
- Capable of working efficiently in a high-production shop environment
- Ability to maintain welding equipment in safe, proper working condition
- Must supply and use appropriate personal welding gear to perform work safely
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong attention to weld quality and code compliance
- Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team
