About the Position

This is an active, hands-on, and on-your-feet position in a busy retail and business-service environment. Our team members do much more than operate a cash register. They assist customers with shipping, packaging, printing, mailbox services, retail purchases, passport photos, notary services, Live Scan fingerprinting, key duplication, and more!

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is generally $15.00 per hour for candidates who are new to our industry and require training.

As employees become proficient in our services, systems, equipment, and procedures, compensation may increase based on demonstrated performance, reliability, accuracy, initiative, customer service, sales ability, and overall contribution to the store. Employees who become fully capable and dependable in the position generally earn up to $18.00 per hour, with higher compensation possible for exceptional performance, advanced responsibilities, or significant directly relevant experience.

We value the skills and experience applicants bring from other industries. However, because this position requires specialized knowledge of shipping, retail, packaging, printing, mailbox services, equipment, and store procedures, compensation is based primarily on directly relevant experience and demonstrated proficiency in our operations. Most employees who are new to the industry require approximately 60 days of consistent training and hands-on experience to become proficient in the position.

The final starting wage will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications, directly relevant experience, and demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of this position. Wage increases are not automatic and are based on performance and proficiency.

Schedule

We are seeking candidates available to work approximately 25–35 hours per week, although weekly hours may be lower during the initial training period.

Applicants must have availability:

• Between 8:45 AM and 7:00 PM Monday through Friday
• Saturdays between 9:45 AM and 6:00 PM
• For a combination of daytime and closing shifts as scheduled

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will be expected to:

• Deliver friendly, professional, and outstanding customer service in every interaction.
• Build positive customer relationships and help retain customers through attentive, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented service.
• Manage time effectively and use company labor responsibly.
• Use effective retail sales techniques to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Accurately process shipping, retail, mailbox, and service transactions; compare shipping options and explain carrier services, pricing, and estimated delivery times; and maintain mailbox customer paperwork and database information.
• Package customer items appropriately and efficiently for shipment.
• Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages.
• Assist customers with copying, printing, scanning, faxing, laminating, binding, and other document services.
• Operate store equipment, including printers, copiers, laminators, binding equipment, key-cutting equipment, point-of-sale systems, and other specialty equipment, and take passport and identification photos.
• Perform notary and Live Scan fingerprinting services once trained and/or certified as required.
• Stock and restock merchandise and help maintain accurate inventory.
• Monitor the sales floor attentively for potential shoplifting. Courteously redirect children away from merchandise or equipment when appropriate to help prevent damage while maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Keep work areas, counters, equipment, displays, and customer areas clean, organized, and professional.
• Proactively complete daily tasks and store projects without needing continual reminders.
• Troubleshoot customer questions and resolve routine problems efficiently and professionally.
• Multitask and work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Lift and move packages weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and store owners regarding customer issues, incomplete tasks, equipment problems, inventory needs, and other matters affecting store operations.
• Follow all established company policies, processes, and procedures.

• Comfortable using computers, point-of-sale systems, printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other standard office equipment.
• Able to lift and move packages weighing up to 35 pounds and comfortable working in an active, on-your-feet environment.
• Available for scheduled Saturday shifts.

Experience

Previous retail sales and customer service experience is strongly preferred. Experience with shipping, packaging, printing, or similar business services is a plus.

Special consideration may be given to applicants with previous experience at The UPS Store, FedEx Office, Postal Annex, or a similar shipping, printing, mailbox, or business-service center.

Current Idaho Notary Public certification is a plus; otherwise, the candidate must be eligible and willing to become an Idaho Notary Public.
