With nearly 100 years in the industry, Post Road Iron Works is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper to join our team.
This position will be an integral part of our front office team, supporting our project management teams, with a focus on accounts receivable, certified payroll, accounts payable, and construction compliance. We are looking for someone who understands the documentation, deadlines, and accuracy required in the construction industry and is interested in a stable position with long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process construction progress billings, including AIA-style requisitions, schedules of values, retainage, and supporting documentation for Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports and required documentation
- Process Accounts Payable, including coding and entering vendor and subcontractor invoices
- Manage job compliance documentation, including certificates of insurance, W-9s, lien waivers, and other project requirements
- Coordinate with project managers and accounting personnel to ensure billing, payroll, job costing and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction bookkeeping
- Experience with progress/AIA billing, certified payroll, accounts payable
- Working knowledge of chart of accounts and proper account coding
- Familiarity with construction requirements such as retainage, change orders, job costing, and compliance documentation
- Sage 100 Contractor, Sage Paperless Construction, Textura, LCP Tracker, Power BI experience is desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
Schedule and Compensation
This is a full-time, on-site position at our Greenwich office, five days per week.
We are looking for someone who values teamwork, stability, and long-term growth and wants to build a career with an established steel construction company approaching a century in the industry.
Salary : $25 - $35
