Duties
- Safely load, unload, and organize packages in box trucks or delivery vehicles with manual transmission.
- Deliver mail and parcels along designated routes, ensuring accurate and timely drop-offs at residential or business addresses.
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving items as needed to facilitate efficient deliveries.
- Use warehouse experience to handle shipments, including loading pallets with pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary.
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, pickups, and route activities throughout your shift.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with traffic laws; drive confidently using commercial or
driver licenses. - Provide excellent customer service by addressing recipient inquiries professionally and ensuring a positive delivery experience.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously.
- Experience operating box trucks, cargo vans, or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmissions.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting, moving items safely, and handling physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver’s license suitable for commercial driving; experience as a courier or delivery driver is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of route driving best practices to optimize efficiency while maintaining safety standards.
- Ability to stay organized, follow detailed instructions, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
