Position: Assistant Motel Manager (On-Site Housing Included)

Kings Inn Motel in Valliant, OK is seeking a dependable, hands-on Assistant Motel Manager to help support day-to-day motel operations, housekeeping, guest service, and property upkeep.

This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently. The Assistant Manager provides full operational coverage for the Resident Motel Manager two days per week while also assisting with housekeeping and property support during the remainder of the week.

On-site housing is included, and on-site residency is a required part of this position due to the operational nature of the role.

Job Overview

This is not a “sit behind the desk” role.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable being hands-on and helping wherever needed—including front desk responsibilities, cleaning rooms, handling guest issues, and assisting with general property upkeep.

The ideal candidate is someone who notices problems, takes initiative, communicates well, and helps keep operations running smoothly without needing constant direction.

Key ResponsibilitiesFull Property Coverage (2 Days / 2 Nights per Week)

• Managing front desk operations, reservations, check-ins, and check-outs
• Answering phones and responding to guest needs
• Ensuring reservations are accurate and not missed
• Handling guest concerns professionally
• Maintaining awareness of room availability and occupancy
• Ensuring the property remains clean, organized, and guest-ready
• Performing light maintenance and troubleshooting when needed
• Maintaining shift notes and communicating important updates

Housekeeping & Property Support

• Cleaning guest rooms and preparing rooms for arrivals
• Laundry, linens, and supply organization
• Maintaining cleanliness of common areas and exterior spaces
• Reporting maintenance concerns or operational issues
• Supporting overall property presentation and readiness

Operations & Team Support

• Assisting with inventory and operational organization
• Supporting marketing and online presence efforts when needed
• Using downtime productively to improve cleanliness and property condition
• Helping maintain a positive guest experience and strong team communication

What This Role Requires

• Strong reliability and follow-through
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Comfortable handling multiple responsibilities throughout the day
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Willingness to perform housekeeping and hands-on operational work
• Basic maintenance/problem-solving ability preferred

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Role Expectations

This role is best suited for someone who is self-driven, dependable, and willing to step in wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly.

This is a hands-on operational role where initiative, responsiveness, and consistency are important.

• Structured around approximately two full coverage days per week plus housekeeping/property support hours
• Flexibility and responsiveness are important during coverage shifts

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation includes both cash wages and employer-provided on-site housing with utilities included.
