Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.

Responsibilities
Weekend Maintenance Mechanic
Starting rate: $36.70 per hour
The Schedule For The Weekend Maintenance Mechanic Will Be:
- Saturday - Monday with alternating Fridays
- 12-hour shifts, 6pm - 6am
- Shift premium: $1.50 per hour
In the Maintenance Mechanic role, you will:
- Maintain and repair all plant equipment and facilities in a way that achieves customer satisfaction in support of the manufacturing of Kibbles ‘n Bits
- Review work orders to ensure materials are available and develop manpower and scheduling estimates. Initiate work orders when work cannot be performed immediately
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspection functions and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety
The successful candidate (s) for this role will have the following qualifications:
- Possess a high school diploma or a GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with good diagnostic skills
- Experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and facilities
- A proven track record of consistent performance delivering safety and quality
- Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions
- Ability to comply with a strict attendance policy
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability and willingness to communicate with cross functional teams
- Experience in food manufacturing preferred
- Able to operate, perform basic physical activities: climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and moving around stairs, ladders, platforms and various equipment
- Able to lift objects up to 60 pounds frequently
- Must be able to effectively read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents
- Qualified candidates may be required to complete an assessment
