The Lawrence, Kansas facility is 236,000 square feet and home to about 200 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits®. Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.

Weekend Maintenance Mechanic
Starting rate: $36.70 per hour
The Schedule For The Weekend Maintenance Mechanic Will Be
Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs and ladders, reach, bend, stoop, squat, and perform repetitive manual tasks. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 65 lbs and push or pull up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
Weekend Maintenance Mechanic
Starting rate: $36.70 per hour
The Schedule For The Weekend Maintenance Mechanic Will Be
- Saturday - Monday with alternating Fridays
- 12-hour shifts, 6pm - 6am OR 6am - 6pm (shifts do not rotate)
- Shift premium: up to $1.50 per hour
- Maintain and repair all plant equipment and facilities in a way that achieves customer satisfaction in support of the manufacturing of Kibbles ‘n Bits
- Review work orders to ensure materials are available and develop manpower and scheduling estimates. Initiate work orders when work cannot be performed immediately
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspection functions and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and facilities
- Proven commitment to safety, quality, and reliable performance
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Reliable attendance required
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
