ABOUT THE ROLE
Post Coffee Company is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and coffee-passionate Café Manager to lead our vibrant team at Chipman Café. In this role, you will oversee all daily operations, ensure an exceptional customer experience, and maintain the premium standards of quality that define our brand. Your leadership will inspire staff, streamline processes, and build the kind of welcoming community environment that keeps customers—and great team members—coming back.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Quality
- Lead retail staff and all café operations to ensure consistently outstanding product quality and service
- Actively monitor drink quality and coach staff to meet Post Coffee Company standards
- Manage multiple revenue drivers within a single space
- Maintain café equipment and schedule regular preventive maintenance
- Keep front and back of house immaculately organized, clean, and safe at all times
- Ensure all food safety compliance, food handling procedures, and health standards are met
Team Leadership & Development
- Develop a motivated, customer-focused team committed to delivering premium products and experiences
- Recruit, interview, and onboard qualified candidates as needed to maintain a high-quality team
- Create weekly café schedules and manage shift operations efficiently
- Train all employees to Post Coffee Company standards for food safety, beverages, and hospitality
- Facilitate and execute the employee review process and follow disciplinary protocols outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Promote teamwork, positive communication, and a collaborative team culture
Financial Management
- Strive to meet and exceed the café's top and bottom line financial goals
- Develop and drive sales initiatives to support business sustainability and growth
- Manage front of house drawer and weekly deposit drop
- Maintain POS systems (Square, Shopify) for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Control costs without compromising standards or customer experience
- Keep inventory and par levels of all café supplies; utilize and manage ordering platforms and outside vendor systems
- Proactively identify and implement café and company-wide efficiencies
Community & Marketing
- Build deep, meaningful community relationships in the café's neighborhood
- Enthusiastically drive top-line sales and support key marketing initiatives
- Facilitate and participate in intercompany and public events
- Hold in-depth knowledge of Post Coffee Company products, principles, and brand story
REQUIREMENTS
- Must love coffee and people — this is non-negotiable
- Previous P&L and café or food service management experience required
- Strong knowledge of Square, Shopify, and QuickBooks preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to model teamwork, lead with positivity, and develop staff
- Approachable, mindful, and solutions-oriented leadership style
- Solid problem-solving skills and experience managing kitchen or café operations
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback professionally
- Experience in inventory control, budgeting, and food management practices
- Background in specialty coffee or barista work required; experience in a high-volume or multi-revenue café environment strongly preferred
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
