What are the responsibilities and job description for the In search of RBT's position at Positive Wave ABA Therapy LLC?
Our RBT's (Registered Behavior Technician) are paraprofessionals who practice under the close, ongoing clinical supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition programs and behavior support plans developed by the clinical supervisor, often in collaboration with teachers and caregivers.
RBTs provide one-on-one behavioral intervention services to individuals with developmental disabilities, most commonly those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. This role involves direct therapy, data collection, and ongoing communication with the clinical team to support client progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans, including skill-acquisition and behavior intervention plans (BIPs), as designed by a BCBA or BCaBA
- Provide direct, one-on-one therapy in home, school, clinic, or community settings
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and caregivers to ensure consistency of interventions across environments
- Collect, record, and maintain accurate data on client behavior and progress
- Conduct specific assessments under supervision (e.g., stimulus preference assessments)
- Utilize evidence-based ABA strategies such as reinforcement, prompting, and behavior shaping
- Support the reduction of challenging behaviors using ethical and approved intervention strategies
- Assist clients in developing communication, social, and daily living skills
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Participate in ongoing supervision, training, and performance evaluations as required
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding client progress and any concerns
- Required Qualifications (Florida):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
- Completion of a 40-hour RBT training program
- Successful completion of the RBT competency assessment and certification exam
- Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening (Florida requirement)
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
