Positive Change Psychiatry and Therapy Services, LLC is are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing outpatient mental health practice in Waverly, Iowa. In this vital role, you will provide expert mental health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans for diverse patient populations, including children, adults, and seniors. Your energetic approach will help foster a supportive environment where patients feel empowered to improve their mental well-being. This position will be part time working from home or in the office evenings and/or weekends.
Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status exams, risk assessments, and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 coding standards.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, therapy modalities, and lifestyle interventions.
- Prescribe medications responsibly, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and botulinum toxin treatments where appropriate.
- Manage medication administration, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatments accordingly to optimize outcomes.
- Utilize EMR Therapy Notes for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records management, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide telehealth services to expand access to psychiatric care for remote or underserved populations while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP-BC or equivalent) in Iowa.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (children & toddlers), geriatrics (memory care & dementia), individuals with developmental disabilities or complex medical needs such as dialysis or ventilator dependence.
- Strong clinical assessment skills combined with physiology knowledge and expertise in medication administration including injections and IV infusion.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on treatment options.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
