We are looking for a career focused CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist who is a problem-solver who can roll up their sleeves, think on their feet, and work on complex Swiss screw machines. This is a full-time on-site role located in Medford, NY. Part Time, afternoon or evening hours would be considered for candidates with the right experience.
Requirements:
· 5 years working in an aerospace, military, medical or industrial machine shop required.
· Experience with Turning, Swiss, and/or Milling machines or CNC Machine Operator certificate required.
- Experience in CNC machine set up and operation required. Including both legacy components and new production orders.
- Experience editing and programming with CAD/CAM software and CNC programs a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints required.
- Knowledge of AS9100 a plus.
- Experience holding tolerances to .0002" and .001 True Position.
- Working knowledge of various materials & tools (inserts, endmills, drills Etc.) required.
- Ability to use measuring tools as required (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Good planning and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Must be dependable and possess a willingness to learn new techniques.
- Must be a US person as defined by (ITAR) The International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
- Must read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to regularly stand and lift 20lbs, occasionally lift up to 50lb.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify components are produced to print (dimensional and visual inspection), holding tight tolerance of /- .0002
- Make offsets.
- Start the machining cycle.
- Load and unload parts in the machine.
- Complete all paperwork related to production.
- Change tooling as needed.
- Meet quality standards and production schedules.
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Ensure proper material control, identification, and traceability for conforming and nonconforming materials.
- Maintain safe working conditions and follow occupational safety and health requirements, including PPE guidance
- Support Quality Best Practices and contribute to continuous improvement
Schedule:
- Shop open 6am to 10pm, Monday through Friday.
- Individual schedule is negotiable.
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Overtime as available
- Weekends as needed
Pay: Up to $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 50 per week
