Dog Daycare Shift Lead

Position Overview

The Dog Daycare Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily daycare and boarding operations, ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of all dogs in our care. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for animals. The Supervisor will support the staff team, uphold company policies, and maintain a clean, organized, and enriching environment for dogs.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision & Safety
• Monitor dog playgroups to ensure safe and positive interactions.
• Identify and address behavioral concerns proactively.
• Maintain correct staff-to-dog ratios and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
• Handle and report incidents or injuries according to company procedures.
• Team Leadership
• Lead by example with professionalism and a positive attitude.
• Support staff with daily assignments, ensuring tasks are completed properly and on time.
• Train and mentor daycare attendants on handling techniques, cleaning standards, and customer service.
• Assist with scheduling and shift coverage when needed.
• Customer Service
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients during drop-off and pick-up.
• Provide feedback and updates on dogs' behavior, health, and activities.
• Assist with client questions, bookings, and concerns both in person and through the Paw Partner app.
• Facility & Operations
• Oversee cleanliness and sanitation in all areas of the facility.
• Ensure supplies are stocked and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Support feeding, medication administration, and kennel assignments for boarding dogs.
• Collaborate with management/owner to improve operations and implement new procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in dog daycare, kennel, or animal care facility (supervisory experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of canine body language and group play dynamics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
• Must have full availability hours per week)
• Must be reliable, punctual, and comfortable working weekends and holidays.
• Certification in pet CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
