Position Overview
The Dog Daycare Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily daycare and boarding operations, ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of all dogs in our care. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for animals. The Supervisor will support the staff team, uphold company policies, and maintain a clean, organized, and enriching environment for dogs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Safety
- Monitor dog playgroups to ensure safe and positive interactions.
- Identify and address behavioral concerns proactively.
- Maintain correct staff-to-dog ratios and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Handle and report incidents or injuries according to company procedures.
- Team Leadership
- Lead by example with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Support staff with daily assignments, ensuring tasks are completed properly and on time.
- Train and mentor daycare attendants on handling techniques, cleaning standards, and customer service.
- Assist with scheduling and shift coverage when needed.
- Customer Service
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients during drop-off and pick-up.
- Provide feedback and updates on dogs' behavior, health, and activities.
- Assist with client questions, bookings, and concerns both in person and through the Paw Partner app.
- Facility & Operations
- Oversee cleanliness and sanitation in all areas of the facility.
- Ensure supplies are stocked and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Support feeding, medication administration, and kennel assignments for boarding dogs.
- Collaborate with management/owner to improve operations and implement new procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in dog daycare, kennel, or animal care facility (supervisory experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of canine body language and group play dynamics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
- Must have full availability hours per week)
- Must be reliable, punctual, and comfortable working weekends and holidays.
- Certification in pet CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
