What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Poseidon Systems?
Poseidon Systems has an immediate need for an accounting clerk. This position will be based in our Victor, NY location reporting to the Controller and will perform accounting tasks, while supporting human resources and general administration tasks as required. We are seeking both full-time and part-time applicants. Part-time applicants would need to commit to a minimum of 24 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
The accounting clerk / administrative assistant will be an integral member of Poseidon’s team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounting
- Bank reconciliations
- Accounts payable/receivable data entry
- Generate financial reports
- Process employee expense reports
Human resources
- Employee on-boarding and exit processing
- Payroll / 401k administration
- Benefits administration
Administration (backup)
- Direct inbound calls / greet visitors
- Mail processing
- Events coordination
- Maintain office supplies
Requirements:
- AS degree in Business (with accounting focus) or Accounting
- Prior experience with Sage 50 (formerly Peachtree) accounting software or similar accounting software
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Highly motivated and organized
- Maintains accurate and complete records (process oriented)
- Positive and friendly
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
