CTL Line Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The CTL Line Assistant is responsible for assisting the CTL line. The assistant supports the efficient and safe operation of the CTL line by assisting with coils loading and unloading, packing and bending products, sub- operating, quality inspections, and cleaning. This position supports the CTL operator and contributes to achieving production targets while adhering to safety protocols.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

1. Production Line Support: Assist the CTL line operator in the safe and efficient operation of the production line. Prepare coils for processing by setting up the next width of the product, or continuously producing the products. Assist product packaging and bending to provide efficient work environment to operator. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficient workflow.
2. Cleaning and Tool Management: Assist cleaning working area to prevent the damage on the coils to put down on the floor. Support the operators in the handling and organizing of packing or bending tools and equipment.
3. Work Compliance: Work accordingly to the work standards and adhere to the work instructions.
4. Work Ethics: Employee must consistently practice cost saving, production efficiency, improvement, and work enhance, Also, maintain an organized work environment.
5. Quality Assistance: Perform visual inspections of coils and finished products, reporting any bad condition on the products or coils to the Operator. Help to maintain quality standards by following the operator's directions.
6. Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, identifying and reporting any potential hazards to the Operator or safety team. Actively participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:  High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  1-2 years of experience working in the steel industry or manufacturing environment, and slitter operator helper experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Ability to learn computer skills.

Other Skills: Good organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.  Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction.

Certifications & Licenses: Forklift and Overhead Crane Certification
