Separator Machine Technician II

We are currently hiring for a Separator Machine Technician II at our Ashland, VA location. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and repairing specialized equipment. This employee will often oversee training for new or junior Separator Machine Technicians and Machine Operators. 

Duties / Responsibilities 

• Operate and set up complex machinery with minimal supervision.
• Perform advanced maintenance tasks and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings when required to ensure product quality.
• Evaluate the efficiency of each machine regularly and identify improvements, as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
• Read and follow all job card requirements, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Follow quality management system (QMS) protocols and ensure a clean work environment.
• Train and assist less experienced operators.
• Record results of units produced in MOM to include good products and scrap.
• Report any safety issues or machine stoppages to a supervisor.
• This position may include all responsibilities of lower-level classification(s)—i.e. Separator Machine Technician I—as well as other relevant duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications / Training

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical experience preferred
• 2 years of experience in machine operation or strong proficiency in operating various types of machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Strong work ethic and attentive to details
• Strong adherence to safety and quality standards
• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Ability to use common measuring equipment
• Strong willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
