Portsmouth Escape Room is an interactive live adventure game in which a group of people find hidden clues and solve puzzles in order to escape the room within one hour.
About the job
This is a part-time position perfect for people who enjoy a fun atmosphere and love interacting with large groups of customers. We have shifts available Friday, Saturday and Sunday (7-9 hr shifts), depending on your availability you can work up to 20-25 hrs a week. We are flexible and will work with your schedule! Additional weekday availability for corporate events is preferred, but not required (3-5 hrs shifts). Saturday availability is required.
The Game Master responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Greeting customers in a personable and friendly manner, making everyone feel excited at being locked in a room for an hour!
- Explaining game rules thoroughly in a fun and engaging way (you must be comfortable talking to large groups of people)
- Closely monitoring people over cctv while they play to provide hints as needed.
- Resetting the game rooms after each game. Strong attention to detail is a must as all the props and clues must be set in a very specific way each time.
- You may also deal with customers over the phone and/or via email asking for questions, directions, etc.
Our ideal applicants are responsible but fun people with good attitude and great problem solving and customer service skills!
Additional bonus skills desired but not required:
- Demonstrable experience in customer service.
- You are handy person who can fix things ingeniously and make MacGyver proud.
- You love games and want to help designing and/or building puzzles and games.
- You have some electronics knowledge.
- Experience building theatrical set or props.
- You are interested in marketing and/or social media and would like to be trained in this area.

Pay: $13/hr to start, depending on experience. Up to $16/hr including tips
