What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garage Attendant position at Portola Hotel & Spa?
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Garage Attendant is responsible for collecting payment for guests parking in the garage and confirming that registered hotel guests were charged for parking during their stay.
THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB ARE:
- Greet guests in a friendly manner.
- Follow set polices regarding cash handling.
- Extensive use and knowledge of garage operating systems.
- Basic cashiering functions including balancing of paperwork and closing out shift
- Maintain garage operating system equipment.
- Monitor and report the cleanliness of the garage and cashier booth.
- Monitor parking spaces available
- Communicate when garage is full and restrict access to non-hotel guests.
- Answer guest inquiries regarding the city and local events and attractions;
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the Front Office Management.
- Support safe work habits and contribute to a safe working environment at all times.
- Carry a friendly, energetic, personable demeanor and have a passion for great customer service, with a customer-first mentality.
- Have strong inter-personal skills and enjoy working in a team-environment and building great relationships with their coworkers.
- Must approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.

Shift Times:
- 7 AM - 3:30 PM
- 10 AM - 6:30 PM
- 3:30 PM - 12 AM
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
Knowledge of the entire hotel safety procedures to ensure the safety and security of our guests and employees.
EDUCATIONAL / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent β Required
- Proficiency in using various computer software programs, Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and general office equipment
- Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCED REQUIRED:
Minimum of one (1) years Hospitality experience required; previous customer service and cash handling experience a plus.
