Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to serve as a vital member of our behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will possess lived experience with mental health challenges and demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting others on their wellness journeys. This position is available in our Pocatello and/or Soda Springs offices.
Responsibilities
- Offer peer-based support by sharing personal experiences to inspire hope and resilience among clients.
- Assist individuals in developing coping strategies and managing crises through effective crisis intervention techniques.
- Facilitate engagement in behavioral health services, encouraging participation in treatment plans and community activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of interactions using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans, providing insights from a peer perspective.
- Provide mentorship and social support to clients navigating mental health challenges, promoting self-efficacy and independence.
Qualifications
- Lived experience with mental health recovery with the ability to relate authentically to clients’ experiences.
- Knowledge of crisis management techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
- Must have a current Peer Support Specialist Certification (CPSS) .
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and effective communication.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
