Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for managing the instrumentation, scopes, and equipment within the service line with a focus on high-level disinfection as well as sterility and best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring that staff understand and exhibit the basic principles of handling equipment and scopes appropriately, and keep informed of the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning and performing high-level disinfection of scopes and equipment between cases.
- In collaboration with the Endoscopy Clinical Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for the education and follow-up on appropriate scope handling and documentation.
- Assists with ordering and procurement of special service equipment and supplies, in a timely manner, to ensure proper high-level disinfection and/or sterilization.
- Assists with educational activities and staff development programs.
- Acts as a technical resource in a leadership role to address clinical performance, outcomes, patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and cost containment.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Certified Surgical Technologist; Graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program; or Successful completion of an approved Surgical Tech training program, such as WeLearn Ready to Work Surgical Tech.
BLS certification.
Knowledge and skill of the function and handling of supportive/adaptive patient equipment and devices.
