The Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic, relationship-focused Membership Manager to lead our efforts in recruiting, retaining, and engaging a vibrant and diverse membership base. This role plays a key part in strengthening the regional business community by connecting local organizations with resources, opportunities, and each other.

- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to attract new members across a variety of industries.
- Conduct outreach through calls, in-person visits, email campaigns, and networking opportunities.
- Present the Chamber’s value and benefits to prospective businesses through meetings and presentations.
- Set and track monthly membership goals to ensure annual budget targets are met.
- Maintain ongoing communication with current members to ensure satisfaction and identify engagement opportunities.
- Implement retention strategies including renewals, surveys, and engagement tracking.
- Lead onboarding and orientation processes to help new members integrate quickly and successfully.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with business owners, community leaders, and key partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for membership inquiries, support needs, and general assistance.
- Encourage active involvement in Chamber programs, committees, sponsorships, and events.
- Collaborate with marketing and events teams to enhance and promote member-focused initiatives.
- Monitor and report on membership trends, including recruitment, retention, and engagement metrics.
- Support Chamber events such as networking programs, ribbon cuttings, and community gatherings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 years of experience in membership development, sales, customer success, or business development.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding recruitment or sales goals.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools.
- Professional office environment with frequent local travel for business visits and events.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for Chamber programs and meetings.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
