TITLE: Cafeteria Worker II (0.5 FTE, School Year) - Central Kitchen
POSITION OVERIVEW:
This part-time, 0.5 FTE position will be based at Central Ktichen with a tentative daily schedule of 7:0011:00 a.m. (20 hours per week). Work hours can fluctuate depending on student lunch schedule and other variable needs, so flexibility will be required to meet the current and future needs of the Food Service Department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Sufficiently good physical condition with the ability to work long hours will standing
- Capable of doing paperwork and computerized point of sale
- Familiar with proper food safety procedures and food preparation, including maintaining personal hygiene, washing and slicing fruit and vegetables, proper food temperatures, avoiding cross-contamination, packaging food to maintain food quality, displaying food attractively, keeping surfaces and work area clean, and washing dishes
- Ability to follow detailed directions and perform tasks independently after learned
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with co-workers and students
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in food preparation preferred
- Ability to pass and maintain ServSafe certification preferred
CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization (more info here - cost is $70).
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:
- Schedule: School-year only, part-time (0.5 FTE)
- Tentative daily hours: 7:0011:00 am
- Contract: Part of BASE union (see 2023-2026 CBA here)
- Wage range: $18.52-$22.73 (based on experience, as outlined in CBA)
