POSITION: Building Substitute- Westwood
Portland Public Schools’ seeks innovative and passionate education substitutes to join our team in each of the district’s DK-12 buildings to support the educational experience for our students and staff.
Eligible candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Current ESS/WillSub substitutes or willing to become a ESS/WillSub substitute
- Michigan Teacher Substitute Permit
The desired candidate would possess the following attributes:
- Knowledge of Portland Public Schools curriculum
- Willingness to commit for the entire 2026-2027 academic school year
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building a collegial relationships with students and colleagues
- Demonstrate knowledge of how to provide effective and engaging instruction in a variety of settings (whole group, small group, individual and collaborative)
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills with the use of positive behavior interventions
- Demonstrate professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession.
