POSITION SUMMARY:
The Field Supply Chain Coordinator is a customer service role supporting Portillo’s restaurant operations by maintaining inventory system accuracy, resolving supply chain issues, and providing day-to-day operational support to restaurant teams, distribution partners, and suppliers. This role helps ensure reliable product availability, accurate reporting, and effective inventory management across all restaurants.
The Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for restaurant operators, internal, and external teams to troubleshoot inventory system issues, resolve distribution or product concerns, and maintain accurate supply chain data. This role also supports new restaurant openings, maintains order guides and system data, and assists with reporting and food cost controls.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, highly collaborative, and passionate about supporting restaurant operators and cross‑functional teams.
This is a full-time role scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm with Saturday support coverage from 8:00am-1:00pm. During the Saturday support window, the Coordinator must be accessible by computer to monitor and respond to restaurant operational requests. Because restaurants continue placing orders during certain holidays observed by the Restaurant Support Center, similar support coverage may be required from 8:00am – 1:00pm on those holidays to ensure restaurants receive timely assistance.
The role follows a hybrid schedule based at the Portillo’s Restaurant Support Center in Oakbrook, Illinois with on-site presence required Tuesday through Thursday.

- Serve as a primary point of contact for restaurant operators, supporting daily inventory, distribution and supply chain needs
- Build strong working relationships with restaurant teams, distribution partners, and suppliers to support alignment and timely issue resolution
- Partner with Supply Chain and distribution team members to support operational priorities and restaurant needs
- Coordinate with suppliers and distribution partners to address product availability issues, delivery disruptions, and product quality concerns
- Maintain electronic order guides and related item master data within supply chain systems
- Serve as system resource for the inventory management system, assisting with troubleshooting, suggestive ordering, recipe depletion, forecasting, and data validation
- Provide system support to ensure accurate food cost reporting and timely invoice processing
- Generate, analyze and maintain reports supporting inventory accuracy, product quality and restaurant performance
- Monitor Supply Chain performance metrics such as inventory accuracy, product availability, and order fulfillment to help support restaurant operations
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and work with restaurant operators, distributors, and suppliers to determine root cause and support resolution
- Validate vendor statements and support Accounts Payable systems imports
- Support resolution of distribution or product quality escalations through the QuickBase reporting platform
- Maintain documentation for supply chain system processes including item setup workflows and recipe management
- Actively monitor inbound requests from restaurant operators, team members, suppliers, distributors, and internal teams (via calls, emails, QuickBase) and resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner
- Coordinate inventory system setup for new restaurant openings, including sales imports, vendor assignment and order guide creation
- Support supply chain execution for new menu items, limited time offers, and product transitions by coordinating system updates and distribution readiness
- Support non-routine distribution coordination during peak periods, new product launches, and holiday planning
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data accuracy, and supply chain processes and share recommendations with the Supply Chain team
- Respond quickly to time-sensitive operational issues while managing competing priorities
- Assist in training restaurant teams on the inventory management system and related tools
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Minimum Educational Level/Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, operations, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Service or related field
- Experience working in multi-unit restaurant operations, inventory management systems, or distribution operations strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Experience with NBO, NCR, and Crunchtime systems is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to support restaurant operators and internal teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing system data and reporting
- Ability to analyze information and make sound operational decisions
- Adaptable, collaborative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
