Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to determine physical therapy needs across various populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and post-surgical cases.
- Develop and execute tailored care plans utilizing evidence-based physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and manual therapy to optimize recovery.
- Assist patients with mobility training, pain management, and functional independence through active treatment sessions.
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions between inpatient, outpatient, home health, and community care services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems while adhering to medical terminology standards.
- Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, physiotherapy exercises, and home care strategies to support long-term health goals.
- Stay current with advancements in physiology knowledge, orthopedics, and care practices to continually enhance treatment quality.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in inpatient hospital settings, outpatient clinics, or home health environments demonstrating strong patient care skills.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and treatment planning purposes.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology principles essential for effective therapy interventions.
- Experience with discharge planning, acute care procedures, and developing comprehensive care plans.
