Porter Wholesale Lumber is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious **Class B CDL Driver** to join our team. This role involves driving a multitude of vehicles, from Freightliners, F-550, and Box Trucks. The ability to operate and handle truck mounted forklifts is required. We are looking for individuals who put an emphasis on safety and the satisfaction of customers. In the occasional absence of deliveries, we ask for flexibility to assist yard operators in the pulling of material.
### **Responsibilities:**
- Operate company vehicles in compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
- Load, transport, and deliver hardware and building materials to designated locations on time.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate logs and delivery records.
- Maintain and communicate the health and performance of Vehicles
- Drivers use a multitude of methods including manual lifting, dumping, and/or Donkey unloading in multi-temperature environments
- Reloads pickups of hardware and building materials onto truck from job site and returns them to lumberyard
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.
- Assist with loading/unloading as needed.
### **Requirements:**
- Valid **Class B CDL** with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety practices.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
